Geostatistics constitutes a globally accepted technical approach to mineral resource-reserve estimation and the basic
toolkit for mine evaluation practitioners.  The conference to be held in Johannesburg, South Africa, 19–20 August 2015 is  sponsored by  GASA and the SAIMM.

The conference provides authors who have recently published papers in the SAIMM’s Danie Krige Commemorative Volumes, a platform to present their research. In addition an invitation to geostatisticians, resource estimation practitioners, and those with an interest in geostatistics to present new papers for inclusion in the proceedings
is now open.

The theme of the conference is ‘Geostatistical Geovalue—Rewards and Returns for Spatial Modelling’, a theme which emphasizes the improvement in, or addition to, value that spatial modelling can bring to the process of mine evaluation and mineral resource and reserve estimation. Spatial modelling of earth related data to estimate or enhance attributed value is the principle domain of geostatistics, the broad content of the Danie Krige Commemorative Volumes, and the focus of this conference.

This is the only conference of its kind since 2004!

Additional information on topics can be found in the Announcement following the link below.

Announcement: Citation Program in Applied Geostatistics 2015 (Johannesburg, South Africa)

GASA, in conjunction with the University of Alberta is pleased to present

Dr. Clayton Deutsch’s Citation Programme in Applied Geostatistics.

The programme is presented annually in Canada and Chile and GASA would like to bring this world class learning opportunity to South Africa on a regular basis. Your interest in this course not only ensures you a spot in one of the more prestigious training programmes in the industry, but also makes this programme available to other delegates in South Africa, who would otherwise not be able to attend this course in either Canada or Chile (due to the high travel costs involved).

The course will be presented in two parts (in Johannesburg, South Africa):

Part I: 17 – 28 August 2015

Part II: 12 – 23 October 2015

The course venue and final programme will be announced after 29 May 2015.

Course Information and Registration forms can be accessed by the links below.
